Hi Everyone,

My name is Leala Meades, the owner and founder of BULLDOG BARBERS in Sunninghill, Ascot. We specialise in haircuts for children and young adults with special/additional needs and special educational needs.

Bulldog is a brand new barbershop with a team that adores cutting children's hair. Throughout my career, I've realised there are very few services tailored for people with special needs within the haircutting industry. Many wonderful children and young adults experience the injustice of not being accommodated when getting their hair cut.

Time and time again, I've seen business owners rush these wonderful people in and out with half-finished haircuts. Instead of taking the time needed, they try to force a full haircut on individuals who are struggling – all within the same timeframe as a regular client.

This often leaves the client (child or adult), parents, barber, and everyone watching feeling sad or stressed. I never understood why. Why indeed?

Why should these wonderful people have to walk around with half-finished haircuts, chunks of hair missing, or even no haircut at all after being refused service simply because they don't fit into rigid time constraints?

It doesn't have to be this way, and it never should have been! I've asked my peers numerous times to tailor a specialised service for these clients, but it was always a hard "no" or "just hurry up and get it done."

This is one of the many reasons I decided to open my own barbershop. I have created a wonderful service designed specifically for SSN and SEN clients. Having autistic children in my family, I understand how difficult and terrifying it can be for them to have their hair cut in a public setting.

At Bulldog, we have a beautiful, private sensory room full of color, toys, and a television with all their favorite programs. We offer free drinks, lollipops, a happy, smiling hairdresser ready to take on any challenge, and a tailored service time to meet each client's individual needs!

No more stress, no uncomprehending audience, no time pressure, no more terrible haircuts, at-home haircuts, or cutting your children's hair while they sleep!
